A few years ago, I painted a thistle that had grown up in the middle of our front yard.  Being me, I made a painting of that plant. The painting sold almost immediately.  The couple who bought the Thistle had just returned from Scotland and informed me that it is their national flower. They knew I had painted it just for them.  A couple of years later and I have been painting some simple Nocturnes and decided it was time to revisit that thistle painting.  The result is this painting. Nothing fancy but I really enjoy its simplicity.
